The Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga, Hon. Nikyema Billa Alamzy, has donated essential medical equipment valued at GH¢80,600 to the Paga Hospital, fulfilling a request made by the facility to enhance service delivery.
The items presented include an electric theatre bed, a theatre trolley, two LED lamps, and ten sets of metallic OPD chairs—all aimed at improving workflow, patient care and overall efficiency at the hospital.
Hon. Alamzy was accompanied by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Stephen Akurugo Aeke, the Constituency Chairman, constituency executives, assembly members and other party supporters.
Speaking at the ceremony, the DCE described the donation as timely and crucial, noting that the equipment would significantly support the hospital’s operations. He urged management and staff to maintain the items properly to encourage future support. He further reiterated the NDC government’s commitment to prioritising the welfare of citizens and assured residents that he and the MP would continue collaborating to accelerate development in the district.
In his remarks, Hon. Alamzy said the intervention was intended to optimise workflow and improve service delivery at the facility. He commended newly posted doctors for accepting postings to the hospital, noting that many professionals would have declined such assignments.
The MP also highlighted his previous contributions to the health sector, including the supply of 630 benches to health facilities across the district and two motorbikes to the Mental Health Unit of the District Health Directorate. He expressed satisfaction that all the critical needs identified by the hospital had now been addressed, but emphasised that his support for the sector would continue.
Hon. Alamzy further disclosed ongoing engagements with relevant authorities to ensure the completion of the Agenda 111 Hospital project in the district, stressing that governance is a continuum. He reaffirmed his manifesto pledge to rehabilitate the broken ambulance donated by former MP Hon. Leo Kaba.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the hospital, Dr. John expressed profound gratitude to the MP for the timely intervention. He noted that the equipment would greatly ease the burden on staff and improve patient care, adding that the electric theatre bed provided is among the best on the market.
The donation reinforces Hon. Alamzy’s unwavering commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving the quality of health services across the Chiana-Paga Constituency.
