Rainstorm renders 400 people homeless

Over four hundred people in four communities near Nsawam in the Akuapem South District have been rendered homeless following a heavy rainstorm which hit the area last Monday.

The communities affected were Ahwerease, Darman, Noka and Anof.

Consequently, the people have appealed to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and philanthropists to come to their aid.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Dennis Dende Bello, and Mr Attah Gyakari, Chairmen of the Unit Committees in the affected areas said the members of the committees were able to rescue a couple from a building which collapsed during the rainstorm.
