THREE DESPERATE young armed robbers, at 1.00 am yesterday, attacked an ambulance conveying a heart patient to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and robbed her of her mobile phone and an amount of money.
The whole drama began when the three desperadoes, in a taxi, ambushed the ambulance conveying Madam Hilda Morten, 69, who had suffered a stroke and was being rushed to the hospital.
Wielding machetes and a pistol, they pointed their weapons at the sick woman and threatened the nurse and a niece with death unless they surrendered their mobile phones and monies.
They collected three cell phones, ¢1,200,000 and the hospital folder of the patient and fled into the darkness.
