Thieves raid Nkoranza schools

Thieves broke into three schools at Bonsu in Nkoranza District of the Brong Ahafo Region and made away with educational materials.

The materials included 85 copies of dictionaries, mathematics and English text books, exercises books, 60 library books, two footballs and volleyballs and 50 [email protected] commemorative cups.

The schools that suffered the theft are Methodist Primary School, Islamic Primary School and Islamic Junior High School.

Mr Kwabena Agyeman Badu, the District Director of Education, who disclosed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the theft had been reported to the police who are investigating the matter.

He urged the people to report hints that could lead to the arrest of the culprits.

Mr Badu advised dealers in stationery in Techiman, Nkoranza, Wenchi and Kintampo areas to report suspected sellers of educational materials to the police.

He urged heads of schools in the district to ensure that adequate security for school materials was provided.
