Madam Rosina Otchere, Headmistress of Topease Junior High Secondary School has expressed concern about moral decadence in the youth and called for concerted efforts by stakeholders in education to instil sound moral values in the youth.

She urged the church to be more proactive and ensure that their teachings impacted positively on their congregation.    Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after an inspection tour of some development projects in the school, Madam Otchere appealed to parents and guardians to live up to their responsibilities in the education of their children and wards.

The six-unit classroom block under construction is being financed through some donors to replace a dilapidated classroom structure and increase the intake of students.
Madam Otchere, a former Society Steward of Asamankese Methodist Church, stressed the need for the introduction of Methodist discipline in schools to improve on the morality of the youth.

Nana Ansah Kwadwo, Mankrado of the town, commended the efforts of the headmistress, School Management Committee and Parent Teacher Association of the school for their vision to bring development to the area.

He advised communities in West Akim District to integrate their economies to provide more employment avenues to the youth to minimise social unrest and agitation among them.    Nana Kwadwo appealed to the assembly and other benevolent societies to assist them with social amenities to enhance their living standards.
