Balanced View Limited, a metal waste and scraps dealing company won a Gold category award at the 18th national award for export achievement organised by the Ghana Export Promotion Council (GEPC).

The company has been exporting non-ferrous metal waste from used refrigerators, roofing sheets, louvers and other metal components to China and other European countries.

William Kyei, Managing Director of the company told the dailyEXPRESS that he was into the importation of refrigeration and air conditioning parts but stopped when it became apparent the imported items amounted to no good.

“... Because I did not know what I should do with them, and reading on metal prices in the world I had an idea I could dismantle them into various parts for export.”

“The government was talking about foreign exchange earnings and I thought it will be a good idea to move in that direction and, it has been good,” he said.

According to him, he looked out for available opportunities and began exporting the dismembered parts of the metals he had gathered. Balanced View Limited also collects metal waste from other agents who bring them in large quantities.

“We add value to the collected items by salting them up for export in other to get the materials in their right conditions before they get to the right destination.”

He said part of the company's success story is the untiring efforts of the staff who have worked tirelessly throughout the three years of existence to get the company to this high height.

William Kyei said items like laminations normally found in transformers are hardly valued here in Ghana, but have huge markets in Asia.

He also thanked Unibank his bankers for their immense financial support.
