Report reaching “The Ghana Palaver” indicates that the estimated 13 billion cedis raised in a fundraising dinner last weekend by Mr. John Alan Kyeremanteng one of the New Patriotic Party presidential aspirants may be a hoax or “azaa”.

Incredible but exciting pieces of information gathered from reliable sources including the camp of Alan Kyeremanteng's team say the donated funds are personal finances he personally “dished out” to guests or used as fronts in his fundraising dinner drive to give legitimacy and credence to the estimated 20 billion cedis he plans spending in his campaign.

The Ghana Palaver is painstakingly investigating to verify the report and would update readers readily on confirmation of it, but can assure you that the fallout would be embarrassing and scandalous.

However, the campaign team of Mr. Kyeremanteng has challenged his critics who claim to have something against his fundraising dinner to prove it or forever shut up.

According to “The Daily Guide” newspaper publication of yesterday Monday, October 15, 2007, the team had described the brouhaha that greeted the event as part of an orchestrated campaign of lies and negative propaganda against Alan.

It claimed that Mr.Kyeremanteng had done similar fundraising for his party (NPP) since 1992, and nobody had complained about it.

According to a press statement signed by Osei kankam, a member of the team, the practice or raising funds for political campaigns was as old as democracy itself and wondered why the one they organised was viewed as strange.
