Ambition Boxing Promotions and the Commonwealth Sports Awards will once again line up some of the finest boxers on the local scene on their bill, come next month.
The championship, dubbed "Winner Takes All" is fixed for November 16 with Amadi Cold Stores as the headline sponsors.
The organisers of the event are however yet to confirm the venue, according to information gathered by the GNA Sports from the promoters, but who are confident of staging another successful championship. On the bill will be the latest West Africa Boxing Union (WABU) Lightweight Champion, Billal Mohammed who will be defending his title against Albert Mensah, holder of the National Lightweight title, with the winner taking home the two titles.
Sensational George Ashie will also challenge Thomas Aryeetey for the National Super Featherweight title as well as the vacant WABU title. WABU Featherweight champion, Alfred Tetteh and National champion, Emmanuel Tagoe will each place their titles for grabs on the night, whilst Nii Ayi Bruce and Isaac Quartey battle it out for the National Super Lightweight title.
Also appearing on the bill are Mohammed Akrong and Daniel Adotey Allotey who ill be vying for the National Middleweight title with Ian Wallace awaiting an opponent from Benin in a six round Super Bantamweight contest.
Micheal Gbenga is also awaiting the confirmation of his Congolese opponent.
Mr Al Hamilton, Chairman of the Commonwealth Sports Awards expressed the hope that the championship will provide fans value for their money. He commended headline sponsors, Amadi Cold Stores for their continuous support to the development of boxing in the country.
