The Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has disbursed GHS134,000 to 22 tertiary students under his annual Scholarship and Bursaries Programme.

The initiative, which started in 2017, supports brilliant but needy students in the constituency to further their education at various tertiary institutions across the country.

According to a statement by his office, this year’s disbursement marks the ninth batch of beneficiaries, bringing the total number of students supported so far to 700.

“In this batch, GHS134,000 has been disbursed to 22 beneficiaries in 16 institutions,” the statement said.

“Beneficiaries are pursuing programmes such as medicine, marketing, law, public health, midwifery, business administration, education, and secretaryship.”

The former Information Minister further commended five students currently studying medicine and physician assistantship for their hard work and urged them to remain committed to their studies.

“The office in particular also commends the five students currently in medical and physician assistant schools. They are encouraged to take their courses seriously,” the statement said.

The office encouraged individuals and corporate bodies to support the initiative or apply through the constituency office or via email at scholarships@konkrumah.com.
