The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Holland branch has elected a new executive body in Amsterdam, to lead and direct the party's activities in the country as well as help propel the it to electoral victory in the coming 2008 general elections in Ghana.

Mr. Kobby Annan, a community radio commentator here, before then the public relations officer of the party for the past years, won the slot for the chairmanship, with Mr. James Atta Nuamah his first vice and Mr. Amoako Gyampah, the 2nd vice chairman.

Other elected executive members were Messrs. Charles Owusu Ansah, Secretary; Yaw Owusu, deputy secretary; J. A. Amoo, treasurer; and Desmond Mensah, youth organizer. They rest were Mrs. Anna Oduro Asare, women's organizer; Ms. Kesewaa Ampadu Minta, deputy women's organiser; Mr. Osei Tutu Banahene, party organizer; and Mr. Krobea Asante, as the porter.

Inducting the new executive body into office, Ghana's Ambassador to The Netherlands, Dr. (Mrs.) Grace Amposah Ababio advised the executive and all the rank and file of the party to close their ranks and be focused in performing their duties.

She asked the members to demonstrate democratic practices among themselves and in their dealings with the executive and urged all Ghanaians in Holland to register with the Mission to facilitate the Mission's assistance to them when the need arises.

In a response, the new secretary, Mr. Charles Owusu, on behalf of the elected executive, expressed their commitment to the task ahead in fostering democracy and socio-economic development in Ghana through creation of political awareness among Ghanaians in the Netherlands.

Also present were, Mr.Yeboah Adabanka, Life Patron of the party's branch, Nana Oduro Nyamekye, member of Council of Elders, Mr. Adu Amankwah, ex-executive member and Capt (Rtd) Ampomah Nketia, a founding member.
