Hundreds of traders and party delegates at the Kumasi Railways Market in the Ashanti Region have declared their support for Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum's bid to become the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2028 elections.

The group, made up of loyal party supporters and delegates, say Dr. Adutwum’s proven leadership, humility, and impactful service as Education Minister position him as the ideal candidate to lead the party into the next general election.

Addressing the press on Monday, June 23, 2025, David Osei Kuffour, an executive of the Ashanti Second-Hand Shoe Sellers Association, praised Dr. Adutwum’s contributions to educational reform and described him as a unifier with the vision to move Ghana forward.

“Dr. Adutwum’s record speaks for itself. His achievements in the education sector and his leadership qualities are unmatched. He is the kind of candidate who can unite the party and win the trust of Ghanaians,” Mr. Kuffour stated.

The traders and delegates have pledged to campaign vigorously for Dr. Adutwum, including embarking on a door-to-door campaign to rally support ahead of the NPP primaries.

They have also called on party delegates across the country to consider Dr. Adutwum as the best option for the party’s future, urging them to support his candidacy if the NPP is serious about reclaiming power in 2028.
