PRINPAG sets August 15 for National Executive Elections, unveils electoral committee

The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has officially set August 15, 2025, as the date for its National Executive Elections.

The decision was unanimously approved during the association’s second quarterly general meeting.

To guarantee a credible and transparent electoral process, PRINPAG has constituted a three-member Electoral Committee made up of respected media professionals. The team will be responsible for overseeing every aspect of the elections.

The Electoral Committee is chaired by Lawyer Ken Agyei Kuranchie of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, who will serve as the Election Administrator. He is supported by Desmond Darko of The Catalyst newspaper as Deputy Election Administrator, and Nimatu Yakubu Atuoyese of NewsDeskgh.com, who will act as Secretary.

The PRINPAG Secretariat has pledged its full support to the Electoral Committee, assuring members of its readiness to assist with all administrative and logistical needs to ensure a smooth process.

The committee’s responsibilities include opening nominations for aspirants, conducting vetting and eligibility checks, supervising the entire voting process, and declaring certified results. It is also expected to organize candidate forums where necessary and address any matters that may arise during the electoral period.

In a statement announcing the committee, PRINPAG expressed full confidence in the professionalism and integrity of the team, describing their appointment as a testament to the association’s commitment to democratic governance and transparency.

The election will usher in a new leadership for a three-year term. PRINPAG is encouraging all members to actively participate in the process and help shape the future of the association.
