Sam George to outline digital innovation strategy at 2025 Ghana-China Business Summit

Mr. Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, is set to deliver a keynote address at the upcoming 2025 Ghana-China Business Summit.

He will speak on the topic: “Harnessing Digital Innovation for Economic Growth: Opportunities for Ghana-China Collaboration” on Friday, June 27, 2025.

The summit, which runs from June 23 to 27, is being held under the broader theme: “Synergising Opportunities: Strengthening the Ghana-China Business Relationship and Fostering a 24-Hour Economy.”

According to a statement issued by the Communication Department of the Ghana-China Business Summit Secretariat, Mr. George’s address will spotlight Ghana’s digital transformation journey, the innovation ecosystem, and investment prospects in digital infrastructure. The Minister will also showcase Ghana’s emerging startup culture, technological advancements, and opportunities for bilateral collaboration in digital technologies.

“Mr Sam George’s presentation will focus on Ghana's digital economy and innovation landscape, investment opportunities in digital infrastructure,” the statement read.

The Minister is expected to highlight successful case studies in digital innovation and entrepreneurship, while laying out a vision for future cooperation between Ghana and China in tech-driven development.

Other high-profile speakers at the summit include selected Chinese CEOs, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, the CEO of the Free Zones Board, and the CEO of Fidelity Bank.

The Summit is being hosted by the Government of Ghana through the Office of the Chief of Staff, in partnership with the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and China’s Ministries of Foreign Affairs in Shandong and Beijing.

Key partners of the event include Perfect World Company Limited, Sino Africa Group, Communication for Development and Advocacy Consult (CDA Consult), Lifeline Haven Company Limited, Tobinco Group of Companies, Fidelity Bank, Ghana Exim Bank, Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited, Labadi Beach Hotel, Bayview Village, and Zeex.

The Ghana-China Business Summit will bring together more than 70 CEOs of leading Chinese state-owned enterprises, as well as Ghanaian investors, entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and government officials. The objective is to build lasting partnerships, unlock investment potential, and reinforce Ghana’s role as a gateway to the West African market.

President John Dramani Mahama is expected to officially open the summit. He will be joined by the Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah; the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Tong Defa; Mr. Chen Xiaowei, Group Chairman of the Sino-Africa Group; and other key government and industry figures.

The summit promises to be a strategic platform for deepening bilateral cooperation, particularly in technology, trade, and economic development.
