The Ghana Meteorological Agency has projected a varied weather outlook across the country today, Friday, June 20, 2025, highlighting the possibility of rain showers, thunderstorms, and sunshine in different regions throughout the day.
According to the agency’s 24-hour forecast, "partly cloudy conditions will dominate the morning across most areas," with mist and fog patches expected, particularly over hilly and forested terrains. Coastal and some northern zones will remain "mostly cloudy" during the early hours, with a chance of isolated rainfall or thunderstorms in some spots.
As the day progresses, residents in the southern half of Ghana—including the coastal, middle, and transitional zones—should brace for variable cloudiness paired with intermittent rain or thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours.
Cities such as Accra, Cape Coast, Kasoa, and Axim are forecast to experience thunderstorms during the day, with afternoon temperatures ranging from 30°C to 31°C, dropping to around 26°C in the evening.
Similarly, parts of the middle belt, including Ho, Koforidua, and Akim Oda, will likely encounter early morning mist, followed by the potential for thunderstorms in the afternoon.
In the northern half of the country, conditions will remain largely sunny with some periods of cloudiness. However, isolated thunderstorms or showers may occur later in the day in towns like Wa, Nalerigu, and Bolgatanga, with temperatures expected to peak between 33°C and 34°C.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency has urged the public to exercise caution, especially in areas forecast to experience thunderstorms, and to stay tuned for updated alerts throughout the day.
