The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bongo, Joseph Akasake Abaah, has accused some factions within his own party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), of deliberately working against him since his appointment to the position.
In a passionate response to recent allegations that he has awarded school feeding contracts to his wife and girlfriend, Mr. Abaah described the claims as “fabricated propaganda” being fueled by party loyalists who opposed his nomination from the start.
“These accusations are false and only meant to tarnish my reputation. I followed due process in awarding all school feeding contracts,” he stated.
According to him, tensions escalated after he rejected demands to allocate 10 percent of the school feeding contracts to the Regional School Feeding Coordinator. His refusal, he said, triggered a coordinated effort to undermine his work and credibility in the district.
“I am committed to serving Bongo and I won’t be distracted. The development of our people remains my priority,” he declared.
Highlighting his achievements, the DCE mentioned the procurement of fertilizers, three mechanized boreholes, and other farm inputs to support dry season farming and improve livelihoods in the area.
Mr. Abaah urged residents to focus on development and unity, and not allow internal party politics to derail progress in the Bongo District.
