Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, says the upcoming launch of the ‘’Nkɔkɔ Nketenkete feed’’ brand signals a new era in agribusiness, particularly in efforts to boost domestic poultry production.

During a working visit to the construction site of a state-of-the-art poultry feed factory by A2 Company in Kumasi, the Minister praised the bold move by the private sector player. The facility, which will produce under the brand name ‘’Nkɔkɔ Nketenkete Feed’’, is expected to be a game-changer, offering reliable, affordable feed to poultry farmers nationwide.

According to the Minister, the factory will have the capacity to process and store up to 30,000 tonnes of maize and soya beans, establishing itself as a major supply hub in the poultry value chain.

“This factory will serve as a huge market for our farmers and contribute significantly to the poultry sub-sector by producing feed at an affordable price,” he said.

He commended A2 Company for what he described as a “bold private sector intervention” that aligns with the government’s agenda of reducing Ghana’s poultry import bill and creating employment opportunities.

“This is clear evidence of how the private sector can create gainful employment for the youth through agribusiness,” he added.

The A2 project is set to generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs while promoting value addition in agriculture.

The Minister also reaffirmed the government’s continued commitment to supporting agribusinesses that contribute to food self-sufficiency and sustainable livelihoods for Ghanaians.
