Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Minister of Finance, is expected to address the 2025 Ghana China Business Summit as a guest speaker on the sub-theme "Financing Growth: Strengthening Ghana-China Financial Partnership for Economic Development."

The general theme for the summit slated for June 23rd to June 28th is "Synergising opportunities: Strengthening the Ghana-China business relationship and fostering a 24-hour economy."

President John Dramani Mahama is set to open the premier Ghana-China Business Summit on Monday, June 23rd, to set the tone for the summit.

In a statement issued by the Communication Department of the Ghana China Business Summit secretariat, Dr Ato Forson will use the platform to highlight investment financing, development financing, and financial sector development.

The summit is being organised by the Government of Ghana through the office of the Chief of Staff, in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Shandong and Beijing.

Other partners are Perfect World Company Limited (PWCL), Sino Africa Group, Communication for Development and Advocacy Consult (CDA Consult), Lifeline Haven Company Limited, Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, Ghana Exim Bank, and Fidelity Bank.

According to the statement, the Finance Minister will also stress opportunities for Chinese investment in Ghana’s key sectors, the potential for Ghana-China cooperation in development financing, collaboration to strengthen Ghana’s financial sector, and opportunities for Ghana-China partnerships in public-private partnerships to finance infrastructure development and other priority projects.

Meanwhile, Mr Dennis Anderson, PWCL Chief Executive Officer and Summit Coordinator, explained that over 70 top Chief Executive Officers of prominent Chinese SOEs and Ghanaian investors, entrepreneurs, business owners and corporate leaders from both the public and private sectors will participate.

He said the summit offers the platform for both countries to explore strategic investment and business opportunities, foster partnerships, and particularly for China to leverage Ghana's strategic position to access the West African market and deepen collaboration between the two nations.

Mr Anderson also emphasises that it will also offer an opportunity for governmental officials to throw significant light on the government's BIG PUSH agenda, with the goal of driving economic growth and development in Ghana's 24-hour economy.

He said the Chinese Ambassador, H. E. Tong-Defa; Mr Chen Xiaowei, Group Chairman, Sino-Africa Group; and the Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, are among the distinguished high-profile personalities who will grace the summit.
