During a visit from a group of Helios Towers, the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr Samuel Nartey George, emphasised that Ghana’s telecom sector has shown robust growth, driven by new affordable products and services, increased demand for data services, and rising adoption of smartphones.

The Minister stated that he expects the sector to continue growing, with a focus on expanding network coverage and improving digital infrastructure.

He noted, “This partnership between the government and Helios Towers aims to promote digital development in Ghana, driving investment, infrastructure expansion, and ICT training, which are expected to have a positive impact on the country’s digital landscape.”

On his part, the CEO of Helios Towers, Mr Tom Greenwood, indicated that Helios Towers plans to expand its neutral tower hosting and provide ICT training for over 2,000 students as part of its contribution to Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.

He noted that the company, which has been operating in Ghana for 15 years, remains committed to continued investment over the next 15 years, signalling a long-term partnership with the government to promote inclusive digital development.
