Israel More than 200 injured in Iranian attacks in Israel as clashes intensify
MON, 16 JUN 2025

Over 200 people have been injured in Iran’s latest wave of attacks on Israel, according to Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service.

While three fatalities had initially been confirmed, the number of injured has now surged far beyond the earlier estimate of 70.

Among the Israeli casualties are two individuals in critical condition and 33 others treated for severe anxiety, highlighting the toll beyond physical injuries as tensions continue to escalate.

Meanwhile, Iran has also suffered devastating losses. Government sources in Tehran report that at least 800 people have been injured and nearly 100 killed in ongoing Israeli airstrikes. The figures were confirmed by Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani.

Israel launched its military operations early Friday morning, striking what it claims are strategic targets across Iran. According to Israeli officials, the objective is to thwart Iran’s alleged nuclear ambitions and neutralize threats posed by the Islamic Republic’s military infrastructure.

In retaliation, Iran unleashed a barrage of missile and drone attacks on Israeli territory, marking one of the most dangerous military escalations in the region in recent years.

Both sides have vowed to defend their sovereignty, fueling fears of a broader regional conflict that could draw in neighboring nations and further destabilize the Middle East.

International observers are urging restraint and diplomatic intervention, but the rapidly mounting casualties signal a deepening crisis with no immediate end in sight.
