Parliament set to vet President Mahama’s Supreme Court nominees from June 16

Parliament’s Appointments Committee will commence vetting President John Dramani Mahama’s nominees to the Supreme Court in a three-day public hearing scheduled from Monday, June 16 to Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

The President has put forward seven Justices of the Court of Appeal for elevation to the apex court, acting under Article 144(2) of the 1992 Constitution, a constitutional mandate that allows the President to appoint justices in consultation with the Judicial Council and in approval by Parliament.
