The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has issued an ultimatum to government to implement its new salary structure and other conditions of service.
The Association has given government, through the Ministry for Labour, Jobs and Employment, from June 16 to June 30 to meet its demands or face a nationwide industrial action.
In a letter addressed to the sector minister following an emergency meeting on Thursday, June 12, CLOGSAG said members have been mounting pressure on the leadership to act.
“The pressure on the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) to get the unique salary structure and other conditions of service for the staff of the Civil Service and the Local Government Service implemented continues to mount on the Association. An Emergency National Executive Council meeting was held on Thursday, 12th June, 2025,” the letter read.
It continued: “National Executive Council (NEC), having noted various correspondence on the implementation of the new salary structure and other conditions of service for CLOGSAG members, and various Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) on the same subject, decided as follows:
• That the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment should ensure effective implementation of the new salary structure and other conditions of service for CLOGSAG members;
• That within two weeks, from Monday, 16th June, 2025 to 30th June, 2025, CLOGSAG expects a positive response from government;
• That failure to initiate implementation will leave the Association with no option than to embark on a nationwide strike.”
