
Security forces comprising officers from the National Security and the Police Service have launched a surprise operation at the home of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The area around the residence has been cordoned off, with armed personnel positioned at multiple entry points. The purpose of the operation remains unknown, and it is yet to be confirmed whether Chairman Wontumi is inside the house.
Journalist Hafiz Tijani, reporting live from the location for Channel One TV, says the atmosphere is tense as residents watch the unfolding situation with concern.
