The Ghana Meteorological Agency has released a 24-hour weather outlook beginning 6 a.m. today, anticipating a mix of cloudy skies, light showers, and potential thunderstorms across various parts of the country.

Morning conditions are expected to be mostly cloudy nationwide, with patches of mist or fog likely over coastal, forest, and highland areas. Some coastal and inland regions may also experience isolated light rain during the early hours.

As the day progresses, southern Ghana is forecast to remain largely cloudy with brief periods of sunshine, while northern Ghana will see hotter, sunnier conditions.

By late afternoon into the evening, the agency predicts localized thunderstorms or rainfall over parts of the coastal, middle, and transitional zones, adding to the day’s weather variability.

Forecasts for key cities include:

  • Accra: A 30% chance of morning rain, with temperatures starting at 25°C and peaking at 33°C. Evening skies are expected to remain cloudy with temperatures around 26°C.
  • Kumasi: Cloudy conditions in the morning transitioning to partial sunshine in the afternoon, with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 34°C.

  • Takoradi: A 30% chance of morning rain, with possible thunderstorms later in the day. Temperatures will range between 26°C and 31°C.

  • Aflao: Morning rain is 30% likely, followed by sunny intervals. Temperatures are expected to vary between 22°C and 28°C.

The sea is currently rough, prompting a warning for residents and fishermen along the coast to remain cautious.

Today’s weather highlights a blend of humid morning air, developing sunshine in parts of the country, and scattered thunderstorms later in the day—especially across southern and central Ghana.
