Over 41,600 students register for no fees stress policy — Kwakye Ofosu

The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has provided an update on the number of first-year students who have accessed the No-Fees-Stress registration portal to have their academic fees paid by government.

According to the Minister, a total of 57,327 students have visited the portal, with 41,647 successfully completing the registration process and awaiting reimbursement.

In a social media post on Wednesday, May 21, Mr Kwakye Ofosu explained that the registration is necessary for government to obtain the banking details of students for payments.

“UPDATE on ‘No fees Stress’. 57,327 students have accessed portal. 41,647 students have completed registration.

“Registration necessary to obtain banking details of students for reimbursement to those who have already paid their fees and to validate lists submitted by public tertiary institutions,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has announced that reimbursement of academic facility user fees for first-year students under the No-Fees-Stress policy will commence in June 2025.

In a statement dated May 12 and signed by SLTF Chief Executive Officer, Dr Saajida Shiraz, the Fund urged eligible students in public tertiary institutions to submit their applications through the No-Fees-Stress portal at https://nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh.

The SLTF further noted that all applications will be verified against admission records provided by the respective public tertiary institutions.
