The Ghana Police Service has arrested two women, Hawa Ibrahim and Latifa Adams, for allegedly possessing a significant quantity of suspected narcotic substances during a targeted operation in Antokrom, located in the Eastern Region.
According to a statement posted on the Police Service’s official Facebook page, the arrest took place on Thursday, May 15, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation by the Eastern North Regional Police Command.
During a search of Hawa Ibrahim’s residence, officers discovered twenty-four maxi bags filled with 1,650 slabs of compressed and ball-shaped substances suspected to be Indian hemp.
The two suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations. Authorities have indicated that they will be processed for court and prosecuted in line with Ghana’s narcotics laws.
The Police reaffirmed their determination to clamp down on drug-related crimes and called on the public to support their efforts to ensure safer communities across the country.
