Kumasi: Police arrest 29-year-old 'drug lord' at Aboabo

Ashanti Regional Police command has announced the arrest of 29-year-old Adam Mohammed for his alleged involvement in the illegal trade of narcotic substances.

The Airport District Police Command apprehended Mohammed on Saturday, May 10, 2025, during a special operation at Aboabo No. 1.

Addressing the press at the regional police command on May 14, the Public Relations Officer, DSP Godwin Ahianyo, revealed that a search of the suspect’s premises led to the seizure of the following:

35 packs of 250mg Tramadol
28 packs of 120mg Tramadol
11 packs of 225mg Tramadol
Approximately 50 empty cartons used for packaging and transporting the drugs.

An amount of Sixty-Six Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GHS 66,950.00), believed to be proceeds from the illicit drug trade, was also found and secured for evidential purposes. The suspect is in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.

The command has pledged its commitment to the fight against drug-related crimes and the protection of lives and property.

“The case we have on our hands is a suspect who is noted for dealing in narcotic substances. The suspect is currently in police custody and assisting with investigations,” he said.
