Dear Ghanaians,
Accept my warmest heartfelt felicitations at this material moment! I hope this epistle finds you in the best of health and tidings!
I have been closely following the conversations regarding Sammy Gyamfi's Dollars Saga. I have noted that there have been divergent views on whether Sammy Gyamfi should resign, or be sacked, with some arguing that his actions do not warrant removal from office or resignation. These opinions are inherently subjective and personal.
Arguably, no amount of expressed public opinion can justify or unjustify whether the conduct of Sammy Gyamfi warrants his removal or stay from office. Ghana, even before the code of ethics of public officers were drafted by the president, John Dramani Mahama, we were a nation of laws; Ghana was not a jungle!
Irrespective of the diverse perspectives, it is essential to recognize that the veracity of the allegations against Sammy Gyamfi can only be established through a competent court's examination of the vexed matter. As a nation governed by a code of conduct for public officials, it is crucial that we refrain from expressing personal sentiments that may be at variance with the law.
His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, has established a standard, and the conduct of his appointees must be evaluated in relation to the codified ethics outlined in the book of code of ethics of the regime.
Therefore, let us exercise restraint while the presidency employs all legitimate means guaranteed by both the Constitution and the recently established code of conduct of public officials, to investigate whether Sammy Gyamfi's actions, as seen in the video where he is alleged to have publicly displayed cash to Nana Agradaa, constitute a serious breach of the said code of conduct of public officials or the constitution, or not.
When the facts surrounding the controversy is established, our good comrade and brother, Sammy, can be spared of the bashing that has since obsessed our media space.
