The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, is currently leading a senior delegation of party officials on a visit to the People’s Republic of China, aimed at fostering deeper collaboration with the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The mission forms part of the NDC’s broader international relations strategy to strengthen diplomatic and party-to-party ties, particularly with political organisations that share similar governance ideals.
A statement issued by the NDC’s Director of Communications, Kakra Essamuah, outlined the key focus areas of the engagement. These include enhancing local government systems in Ghana, reinforcing party cooperation, promoting political exchange programmes between the youth wings of both parties, and exploring avenues for economic and investment partnerships.
The high-profile delegation accompanying Mr. Asiedu-Nketiah comprises Comrade Vincent Kuagbenu, Director for Special Duties; Dr. Karl Mark Arhin, Deputy Director of International Relations; Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw, National Women’s Organiser; and Kwaku Asiedu-Nketiah, Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee.
The team is expected to return to Ghana on May 17, 2025. In the meantime, Comrade Awudu Sofo Azorka, the NDC’s National Vice Chairman, will assume the role of Acting National Chairman.
