Your Excellency, President Mahama, my heart aches as I write this plea regarding the situation with Sammy Gyamfi. I understand the gravity of the allegations and the expectations for upholding the highest standards of conduct within your administration, standards you yourself have passionately championed. The code of conduct you’ve laid out is essential, and I applaud your commitment to accountability and responsible governance.

However, Your Excellency, I implore you to consider this matter with the understanding heart and wisdom you are known for. Remember the Akan proverb: “It is the one who fetches water that breaks the pot.” Sammy Gyamfi has been a tireless champion for our party, a dedicated worker who has poured his heart and soul into the NDC's journey back to power. He has tirelessly defended our values and articulated our vision with unwavering passion.

We are all flawed human beings, susceptible to errors in judgment. To err is human, and as the leader of our great nation, I appeal to your innate capacity for forgiveness, for to forgive is divine. Consider the pressure Sammy is under, the constant barrage of attacks and criticisms he is facing. Perhaps a lapse in judgment occurred, a fleeting moment of weakness.

A single misstep, however regrettable, should not overshadow years of dedicated service and unwavering loyalty. To dismiss Sammy Gyamfi now as some are clamouring for would not only punish him severely but also potentially deprive the NDC of a valuable asset, someone who has proven his commitment to our cause.

Your Excellency, I humbly request that you temper justice with mercy. Consider the circumstances, acknowledge Sammy’s contributions, and give him a second chance to learn from his mistakes and continue to serve the NDC with renewed dedication and integrity.

Show the nation the compassion and understanding that define true leadership. Let us not cast aside a valuable member of our team based on a single error, but instead, offer him the opportunity to redeem himself and reaffirm his commitment to the values we all hold dear.
