GOIL Group CEO visits operational zones in five northern regions

Mr. Edward Abambire Bawa, Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of GOIL PLC, has upscaled efforts to deepen interaction and working relationships between the board, management, and operation staff across the country with a working visit to the northern marketing zones of the company.

GOIL’s northern operational zone consists of the Northern, Savanna, Upper East, Upper West, and North East regions.

The working visit of the new GOIL Group CEO and MD and some management members was to create a healthy working environment, understand the day-to-day undertakings at the operational zones and familiarise with processes.

The visit afforded the team the opportunity to meet some dealers and dealer-transporters to discuss matters affecting the smooth running of business activities in the zone.

Mr Bawa, during the engagement, expressed gratitude to the team for working assiduously with GOIL and encouraged a sustainable business relationship. He also reiterated the need for commercial feedback to help improve service delivery.

The GOIL Managing Director, accompanied by the Acting Chief Operating Officer, Dr Marcus Deo Dake, added that measures will be taken to resolve all outstanding challenges and asked for unity to enable the company to forge ahead and return to greater profitability.

At a separate meeting with zonal staff, Mr. Bawa called for a re-dedication to work to uplift the GOIL brand, stressing that as first ambassadors, they must be readily responsive to the needs of customers, indicating he will welcome fresh ideas for improvement in operations.

He also promised that efforts will be made to address pressing challenges affecting their work output. Staff in turn promised to work harder to improve the fortunes of the company.

He also stressed that the visit to the northern operation zone forms part of the efforts to deepen his understanding of the day-to-day operations of its subsidiary companies as well.

Mr Bawa reiterated that “these strategic visits were aimed at assessing the progress of operations, identifying areas for improvement, and engaging directly with the leadership and frontline staff of each facility.

“The working tour of key subsidiaries and operational sites of the company also aimed at strengthening collaboration across the GOIL Group.”

Mr Bawa has so far visited GO Bitumen Plant, GOIL Liquefied Bottling Plant, the Ghana Bunkering Services (GBS), and the Central Storage Depot located at Tema, as well as the GOIL Zonal Office at Kpone-Tema.

Meanwhile, during another working visit to the Tema Lubes Oil Company (TLOC), to acquaint himself with operations of the lubricants manufacturing company, Mr Bawa took the opportunity to deepen the collaboration between the two companies for mutual benefit.

GOIL is a shareholder of TLOC and sources the majority of its mineral-based lubricants from the company.

Mr Bawa lauded the efforts of TLOC in ensuring the delivery of quality products and reiterated that its operations resonate with GOIL’s own quality ethos.
