Should Sanctions Be Slapped On President Kagame and His Military High Command?

It's hypocritical of President Paul Kagame to condemn some African leaders as corrupt thieves keeping stolen public funds in banks overseas. What's worse than invading a neighbouring country, DR Congo, using a proxy paramilitary force, M23, armed and trained by his military, to start a brutal war in which millions have been uprooted from their communities and thousands executed in cold blood?

The goal is clear: apartheid Rwanda, dominated by Tutsis, lays hands on minerals in DR Congo's eastern provinces, exports them, and keeps the proceeds for Rwanda's ruthless and greed-filled ruling elites. We demand Western sanctions against President Kagame and members of his military high command. A total blockade of Rwanda's exports and imports through all East African ports is long overdue.

Furthermore, the African Union must act decisively to end Rwanda's invasion by proxy. We call on the AU to threaten expulsion of Rwanda from the organization if the fighting doesn't cease by a given deadline date.
