Ghanaian billionaire and business mogul Richard Nii Armah Quaye says he has no political ambitions, stressing that his only desire is to see Ghana thrive economically.

Speaking at his retirement announcement at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Monday, April 28, Mr. Quaye made it clear that his next focus is to empower young entrepreneurs rather than venture into politics.

“My only aspiration is to see us thrive economically as a nation. I have no political ambitions whatsoever, as may be speculated. These actions will create many businesses that will hold and support our nation’s economic growth,” he said.

“As I begin my retirement from all my businesses in Ghana and other countries as CEO or Board Chairman, I want to focus my time and energy to lead this vision of bringing together young people with financial resources and those with amazing skills and early-stage businesses to trigger the economic revolution that will make our nation great and strong,” he added.

Mr. Quaye, who recently turned 40, retired as Chief Executive Officer of Quick Angels and Board Chairman of Bills Micro Credit.

His successors were also introduced at the event to take over the running of the companies.

Lawyer Dei Kwarteng will now serve as Chairman of Bills Micro Credit, while Emmanuel Lamptey has been appointed CEO and Board Chairman of Quick Angels.

They both expressed readiness to build on the strong foundation laid by Mr. Quaye.

Following the retirement announcement, Mr. Quaye launched a new company, RNAQ Holdings, where he will serve as President.

RNAQ Holdings seeks to support young and ambitious individuals in Ghana and across Africa, addressing challenges such as unemployment, lack of capital, and limited access to mentorship.
