George Opare Addo, the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, has urged young Ghanaians to take advantage of the yet-to-be-launched Adwumawura Programme.
The programme, being implemented under the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, is a special business start-up policy aimed at facilitating the creation, tracking, and mentoring of a minimum of 10,000 businesses annually, with a special focus on young people.
The Adwumawura Programme, which forms part of the NDC’s ‘Resetting Ghana’ agenda, seeks to address unemployment among the youth by empowering them with the requisite skills and resources to establish their own enterprises.
Speaking in a video shared on Saturday, April 26, the Youth Development Minister announced that the programme will be launched on Monday, April 28, at the Prempeh Hall in Kumasi.
“In the run-up to the 2024 election, we made promises of creating decent and sustainable jobs for young people. One of the key initiatives we pledged to do was the Adwumawura Programme,” he said.
He urged young Ghanaians to make use of the programme to help achieve the goal of building a Ghana that is desirable for all.
“Young people, this is for you. Let’s take advantage of it, and let’s build the Ghana we want.
“Let’s take this opportunity to thank His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for fulfilling one of his key campaign promises to the young people of this country,” he added.
