Malik Basintale, Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has openly criticised the existing agreement between YEA and Zoomlion Ghana Limited, describing it as “evil” and exploitative.

In a strongly worded Facebook post, Malik expressed his determination not to extend the sanitation module contract, which he claims unfairly compensates workers.

He noted that under the current arrangement, workers reportedly receive just GH¢250 out of the GH¢850 allocated per person, with the remaining GH¢600 going to Zoomlion as management fees.

“For 7 years and 9 months, the NPP renewed this contract—this is gross injustice!” he declared. “I SHALL STOP IT.”

Appointed under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, Malik pledged to bring change and ensure fairer wages for young Ghanaians working under the program.

He announced plans to go live on Facebook at 8 PM tonight to outline his vision and explain the changes ahead.

“Change came on December 7th, and we must deliver on it,” he stressed.

All my life, I have fought for integrity and for the better placement of the Youth and people of Ghana.

For 7years, 9 months, the NPP renewed the Zoomlion contract in its current state paying the Ghanaian Youth/worker Ghc250.

H.E John Dramani Mahama came to review, reset and bring Ghana back on track.

This includes ensuring that every worker is paid satisfactorily for the work done.

I promise on my honor as I stand by the grave of my late DAD, NOT to RENEW the contract in its CURRENT STATE or FORM.

It is EVIL for the Previous government to have committed to this and I SHALL STOP IT.

My brothers and sisters, On December 7th, 2024, Change came and Change must Happen.

If my mother/Brother/Sister were a Zoomlion worker, I won’t be happy with either of them taking Ghc250 as Salary and as such I can’t be happy with you, your mother, father, brother or sister taking same.

I Shall be live tonight at 8pm here on Facebook to take reviews, comments and the way Forward.

May God bless us all.

Woa look at buffoonery at its best. How can such a nonentity come out with such primitive warning to a person who employs a greater number of Ghanaian youth? Ndc will definitely go back to opposition in 2028

Do you support the suspension and removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo?
