The Mankrado of the Sokode Traditional Area, Togbe Adzato III, has pledged to promote discipline at Sokode Senior High Technical School.
During his visit to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Sokode Gbogame on Easter Sunday, he expressed his surprise at the recent incidents in Sokode, particularly in Gbogame.
He believes these challenges can serve as opportunities for the community to thrive.
Togbe Adzato highlighted the importance of community engagement and unity in addressing the issues faced by the school. He expressed shock at the extent of student violence, noting that some students had scaled the school’s fence to buy items in town at 3 a.m. He is concerned that if such incidents continue, they will harm the relationship between the school and the community.
The Mankrado warned that ongoing problems could negatively impact business growth and corporate social responsibility within the area. He emphasised the need for all stakeholders to collaborate to resolve these issues.
Togbe Adzato called for stakeholder engagement to instill discipline within the school, believing this would reduce negative behavior and promote a violence-free community. He urged the community to remain united and show love to enhance solidarity and development. He also promised that the traditional authorities would monitor the school’s progress and maintain discipline.
The Mankrado emphasised the necessity for improved street lighting in the area, especially around the pub mentioned in the reports of recent incidents. Although he has not yet read the Committee Report submitted to the Regional Minister, he recognises the importance of addressing the concerns raised within it.
Togbe Adzato is confident in the future development of Sokode Gbogame and believes that with unity and discipline, the community can thrive and grow.
