Professor Ransford Gyampo, Acting CEO of the Ghana Shippers' Authority, has urged communicators of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be more vocal in defending the government against baseless criticisms.

According to him, it is too early for communicators of the ruling party to tolerate bad press from uninformed individuals.

Speaking on Accra-based TV3’s KeyPoints on Saturday, April 19, the political scientist stressed the need for President John Dramani Mahama to have peace of mind to deliver on his promises.

“Please also see that it is too early for the ruling government to be tolerating the kind of bad press that people have started introducing. I urge the ruling party and its communicators to begin to activate all mouth cameras so that we can offer a regime defence to ensure the president has peace of mind against the needless noise from those who know next to nothing about how to govern a country,” he said.
“I know you have to refocus. President Mahama has to focus. But whether you like it or not, he is a human being, and sometimes he can be distracted or worried by some of this needless noise from those who don’t know how to govern a country,” he stressed.

Prof Gyampo stressed that the good works being done by the President and his appointees must be protected from individuals making unfounded criticisms.

“All mouth cameras must be activated to offer a regime defence—to shield the president and his appointees from the needless noise of those who know next to nothing about how to govern a country.
“So please begin to do some of these things. Otherwise, they will continue to throw mud. They don’t know how to govern a country, but they can keep throwing mud such that, before you know it, the mud begins to fester in the psyche of people,” he urged NDC communicators.
