The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has forecast a generally sunny day for much of the country on Wednesday, April 17, with the likelihood of thunderstorms and rain in some regions later in the day.
Early in the morning, residents across Ghana can expect partly cloudy skies, while areas along the coast, forest belt, and hilly regions may wake up to patches of mist.
By midday, sunshine will dominate most parts of the country. However, GMet warns that communities in the forest, transition, and northern zones should prepare for possible thunderstorms—potentially accompanied by rain—beginning late afternoon and continuing into the evening.
Temperatures are expected to rise significantly throughout the day, especially in the northern regions, where the heat will be most intense.
Here are the projected temperature ranges for the day:
Coastal zone: 24°C to 33°C
Forest zone: 24°C to 35°C
Transition zone: 23°C to 36°C
Northern zone: 24°C to 41°C
GMet is encouraging the public to stay hydrated and minimize prolonged exposure to the sun, particularly in the northern sector where temperatures are set to peak.
