Ghanaians experienced the most skewed rulings and election frauds in the nation's history from the electoral commission and Ghana's judicial system. The common people, who suffered most and experienced physical and psychological abuse at the hands of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo and Jean Mensa, want to know why they did that if a new government is in power today. The answer is straightforward: Akufo-Addo persuaded them that Mahama would never again hold the presidency.
It is incomprehensible that Gertrude Torkornoo publicly displayed bias in all of her actions in support of her party, the NPP, and that Jean Mensa also actively participated in electoral fraud, which she admitted were mistakes whenever she was exposed, yet she continues to violate the Constitution and commit new electoral fraud. Every intelligent Ghanaian would know from this that Akufo-Addo convinced them that Mahama would never be able to win and return as president.
Since they were executing their evil schemes directly against Mahama or the NDC, the immoralities had a catastrophic effect on the populace without any regret or compassion. Bernard Antwi-Bosiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, had previously claimed that Mahama would never be elected president, exposing the reason the NPP massacred Ghana. The former president has repeatedly said that "there is no way someone he has defeated twice will win the 2024 presidential race."
To be honest, other people shared Akufo-Addo, Jean Mensa, and Gertrude Torkornoo's belief that Mahama had little chance of winning the 2024 presidential election. Bernard Antwi-Bosiako was among the roughly 70% of NPP politicians who thought Mahama would fail as president. Sitting in his radio station, the man, also known as Chairman Wotumi, declared that "Mahama wubuuuuuuuwa," which translates to "Mahama, you are deceiving yourself; you'll never be president."
In addition to using the party's radio stations and state-sponsored journalists to disseminate propaganda, such as the false claim that Mahama owns a large mansion in Dubai, the NPP politicians have reason to believe that Mahama will not be president again because there are a lot of ignorant people all over Ghana who easily believe their falsehoods and spread the word. However, as time advanced, the people discovered that the NPP was deceiving them and also didn’t respect them.
When Matthew Opoku Prempeh said that the NPP members in the Ashanti Region don't require development but that providing them with party T-shirts may only increase the party's total votes, the NPP's luck ran aground. The enraged populace then gave the ultimatum to the NPP to acknowledge the fact that power belongs to the people. The NPP continued to assume that Gertrude Torkornoo and Jean Mensa would help the party win the 2024 presidential election in spite of this warning.
To make things harder for the opposition NDC, Akufo-Addo appointed the highest number of judges to the Supreme Court. This had a devastating effect on the populace but had less of an effect on the opposing party. When the government denied the people’s request and imposed the E-Levy, Ghanaians anger was put to the test. It proved to be the most damaging tax in the nation’s history, despite the government's assurance that it would be the panacea for all of the country's issues.
Amidst a high youth unemployment rate, pervasive corruption, money laundering, and a national debt of GHC 763 billion, as well as "Agyapadie" state capture, the economy and investments collapsed, and small company owners and entrepreneurs lost their livelihoods and businesses. The NPP government embezzled funds, including those from the COVID-19 pandemic, and persecuted Ghanaians, including pensioners, who lost their entire savings or died prematurely through a debt restructuring program to secure financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund.
I still find it incomprehensible that individuals like Jean Mensa and Gertrude Torkornoo wish to continue working in Mahama’s administration, despite the crimes they committed for their opposition party, the NPP. Ghanaians don’t need them, with the exception of a small number of criminals; nonetheless, we will not permit them to assist the criminals. Their removal is necessary to prevent Ghana from experiencing a second apocalypse of financial and economic catastrophes.
