Elections High Court dismisses election petition against Annoh Dompreh, awards GH¢25,000 cost
THU, 10 APR 2025

The High Court in Koforidua has dismissed an election petition challenging the 2024 parliamentary victory of Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, effectively upholding his re-election.

Presided over by His Lordship Krofa Addae, the court ruled in favor of an application filed by Gary Nimako Marfo, the Director of Legal Affairs for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to have the case thrown out.

The petition, which questioned the validity of Annoh-Dompreh’s election, was found to lack merit after careful examination of the arguments presented. As a result, the court dismissed the case and imposed a GH¢25,000 cost on the petitioner.

Annoh-Dompreh, who currently holds the position of Minority Chief Whip, secured his seat in the December 2024 general elections.

The decision brings a close to the legal dispute over his parliamentary mandate and is considered a notable legal victory for the NPP, further cementing Annoh-Dompreh’s position as the duly elected representative for Nsawam-Adoagyiri.
