Assembly Members of the Kintampo North Municipal Assembly on Monday confirmed Isaac Donkor, who is the President’s nominee for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position.

The nominee had 100% yes votes, with all 64 votes cast made up of 45 elected members and 19 government appointees approving his nomination in an election conducted at the Kintampo North Municipal Assembly hall.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Donkor expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received. He emphasized his commitment to serving the people of Kintampo North and promised to address the pressing challenges faced by the municipality.

He acknowledged the poor road networks, water issues, and traffic concerns, dearest to his heart is the development of the centre of Ghana into a tourist attraction centre. stating that these were not just problems to be talked about but issues that would be tackled with urgency.

He also extended his appreciation to the Honourable Member of Parliament for his support and promised to work together in a spirit of unity and mutual respect to ensure the rapid development of the area.

Mr. Donkor thanked the Assembly Members and Appointees for their trust, noting that their confidence in him would drive his efforts to serve with humility, integrity, and action.

He further acknowledged the contributions of the NDC party, the Constituency Executives, and the grassroots for their tireless efforts in making the confirmation process a success. "I believe that each of you—aspirants and supporters alike—have something valuable to offer. My arms are open, my doors are open, and my heart is open. Let us move forward together, not as rivals, but as a united team with a shared vision," he stated.

He also made a special call to the traditional leaders, the youth, the clergy, market women, professionals, and all citizens to join hands with him to build a better Kintampo North for all.

Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, urged the new MCE to discharge his duties with diligence by working according to laid-down procedures through mutual understanding.

He added, "you must do so together with the Assembly members who are representatives of the people." He also commended the Assembly Members for the display of non-partisanship during the confirmation of the MCE and assured them of the Regional Coordinating Council's commitment to providing them with the necessary support to help improve the area.

Also present at the function was the Honourable Member of Parliament for Kintampo North, Joseph Kwame Kumah, among others.
