President John Dramani Mahama has expressed disappointment in Chief Justice Gertrude Esaaba Torkornoo over the circulation of her letter requesting details of petitions seeking her removal on social media.

On Thursday, March 27, the Chief Justice, in a letter addressed to the President, requested full copies of the petitions, which had been sent to the Council of State for a determination of prima facie.

She also demanded seven days to respond to the allegations after receiving the copies.

However, in a response dated March 28 and signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, the Presidency noted: “His Excellency, however, notes with disappointment that your letter of 27th March 2025 addressed to him was circulating on social media even before he could review its contents.”

The letter further stated that the document was reportedly shared as an attachment to another letter the Chief Justice sent to the President of the Supreme Court, the President of the Association of Magistrates and Judges, and the President of the Ghana Bar Association.

“Therefore, we are constrained to mark each page of the attachments to this letter as ‘restricted,’” it added.

Meanwhile, President Mahama assured the Chief Justice that due process would be followed in determining whether the petitions would be approved or dismissed.

“His Excellency wishes to assure you that due process will be followed in handling this matter and that you will be given a full and fair opportunity to be heard,” the letter stated.

“Accordingly, you are respectfully requested to submit your preliminary response to the petitions within ten (10) days of receipt of this letter to facilitate further consultation between His Excellency and the Council of State,” it added.

She deliberately did that because she knows there are people, including NPP politicians willing to fight for her. However, no matter how hard they will try, this woman is too dangerous and corrupt minded to serve in this new administration. Gertrude and Jean Mensa, due to what they did to Ghanaians, their names alone send cold waves through my spine when l read about them.
