Its Time To Eschew The Penchant For The Insults On The Judiciary And Stick To Facts And Hardcore Evidence. An Open Letter To The NDC Footsoldiers

Dear NDC footsoldiers!
In my initial comments, I would like to send you my warmest salutations and I hope this important piece finds you in good condition.

Fast forward, I didn't want to engage you again, but this is necessary since it is becoming a cliche on your part as footsoldiers and members of the ruling National Democratic Congress, NDC.

Your penchant and love for insults and vile propaganda against the Judiciary, especially the learned Chief Justice, is unbecoming of you as footsoldiers of NDC, which can't be glossed over.

Firstly, as the revered Chief Justice said, "The law is the law" in one of her speeches, and I respectfully want to share my thoughts to the effect that our friends in NDC must know that you can't run to court full of emotions and propaganda and expect a favorable outcome.

For the past years, many of you NDC footsoldiers dwelled so much on malicious, demeaning, and plain insults when it comes to some members of the Judiciary and the Justice delivery system in the Country.

You have a penchant for attacking and subjecting our revered Judges to all forms of derogatory remarks instead of focusing on advancing an argument based on hardcore evidence.

Indeed, this has clouded your mindset as NDC footsoldiers to appreciate the fact that going to court is one step, and providing facts and evidence to substantiate your argument is another matter.

With the above mentality of you as NDC members, anytime a ruling goes against your Party or member, you go on the rampage and blow hot for your lack of deep understanding of laws governing our democratic principles and values.

Again, when a ruling goes in your favor, the insults and verbal abuse of our judiciary system are minimal, and this is mind-blowing and disheartening, to say the least.

Back to the politically motivated attempts by President Mahama, your Party NDC, to remove the Chief Justice. The view is that the presence of the Chief Justice is a stumbling block to your triumph in court as a ruling Party.

But to state it without any ambiguity, who goes to court with propaganda and comes out successful? This doesn't happen anywhere where the rule of law is the ultimate.

Per your reasoning and rants on social media as NDC members, you have the feeling that the only way to win cases at the courts is when the head of the Judiciary is axed by President Mahama.

However, this is primitive and backward thinking, to say the least, looking at the respect other countries have for Ghana's Judiciary system and the way cases are being handled meticulously with integrity and fairness.

Empathically stated the mere removal of the Chief Justice won't guarantee your Party's success or victory unless you learn from presenting reliable and accurate facts and evidence in court.

In clear terms, our Justices or Judges sit and adjudicate cases based on hardcore evidence and relevant references to similar cases provided to back their rulings or verdicts made, and this has been the practice.

In effect, your love for insults outside the courts can't change what's presented in the Court. Why must you be so fixated on plain insults and maligning of personalities?

Even if President Mahama succeeds in the removal of the Chief Justice and giving the mantle to your favorite, he or she can't force our judges to the bidding of NDC because the law is the law.

As I stated in my first article on this relevant matter of great concern to Ghanaians. President Mahama can continue on this dangerous path he wants to go but he would be seen as the worst President with his so-called reset agenda.

What's worth noting is that all these grand schemes surrounding the removal of the Chief Justice are to please you NDC footsoldiers and also on the empty promise to fight corruption. But how do you fight corruption by attempting to engage in an illegality?

On social media, I have observed a worrying phenomenon in which you, as NDC footsoldiers, continue to denigrate our Judiciary system for your lack of knowledge and understanding of the processes involved.

It will not be far fetch for one to say that the NDC government led by President Mahama is on the slippery slope to set a bad precedent for our beloved Country, Ghana.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom), has demonstrated a compelling track record when it comes to upholding the sanctity of the Judiciary arm of government.

Truth be told, members of the NPP have showcased a deeper understanding of our Judiciary process and accept verdicts whether it goes in their favor or otherwise.

Therefore, I implore our friends in NDC to emulate this going forward and not to subject our Judges to unfair and mischievous treatment with all manner of derogatory remarks.

Simply put, It's high time for you to eschew the demeaning manner in which you continue to ignorantly and arrogantly blame our Judges for your leader's inability to go to court with evidence and blindly train you to insult people left, right, and center.

Importantly, what you should be concerned about as NDC footsoldiers should be the promises made that will inure to your benefit, i.e., jobs at the back of the so-called 24-hour economy. What do you gain in the removal of the Chief Justice?

In summary, remember political power is transient, and governance is a continuum. This should serve as a guide for you as NDC footsoldiers to concentrate your minds on and not blindly accept everything hook, line, and sinker without questioning.

We have come a long way with our democracy, and it's incumbent on us to uphold and protect it firmly with a great sense of nationalism, not this so-called reset with the removal and dismissal of innocent Ghanaians who were legitimately employed.

Shalom!
