President John Dramani Mahama has urged law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough and immediate interrogation of the suspect arrested in connection with the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.
His call came during a meeting with the leadership of the Ghana Bar Association, led by its President, Efua Ghartey. The discussion focused on pressing legal and human rights issues, including unresolved high-profile murders.
The recent arrest of Daniel Owusu Koranteng, a former associate of Suale, has reignited interest in the case. Koranteng has since been charged with the journalist’s murder, raising hopes for long-awaited justice.
President Mahama emphasized the need for a swift and meticulous investigation, stating that interrogating the suspect could reveal critical information that might lead to further arrests and ensure accountability.
Beyond the Suale case, he reaffirmed his government’s commitment to protecting human rights and called for expedited legal action in the unresolved murder of former Member of Parliament, JB Danquah.
