Missing ECG containers didn’t vanish into thin air, there's possible collusion between port and ECG staff — Former Deputy Minister

Former Deputy Minister for Energy Collins Adomako Mensah has accused officials from Tema Port and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) of involvement in the disappearance of 1,300 containers.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Mensah dismissed any notion that the containers simply vanished, arguing that their disappearance points to a coordinated effort within the system.

“The missing containers didn’t vanish into thin air but rather suggest a deep-rooted issue within the system, with both port and ECG personnel implicated,” he stated.

Mensah’s allegations have intensified concerns over operations at Tema Port and ECG, highlighting a potential case of institutional corruption. He stressed that the missing containers represent more than just a case of mismanagement, suggesting that individuals within both entities may have colluded to orchestrate their disappearance.

“The missing containers are not just a case of negligence but point to possible collusion between individuals within both institutions,” he claimed.

He further called for a thorough investigation into the matter, emphasizing the urgent need for accountability and transparency in the handling of goods at the port.

The disappearance of these 1,300 containers, which reportedly contained essential goods, has sparked widespread concern among industry stakeholders and the general public. Many are demanding swift action to uncover the truth and hold those responsible accountable.
