A suspected armed robber was lynched by a mob at Adum in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region after allegedly attacking a pedestrian with a knife in an attempt to steal his mobile phone.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 5:00 AM on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

Speaking to this reporter, a witness recounted that the suspect, along with two accomplices, ambushed the victim and attacked him with a knife before stealing his phone.

However, their plan unraveled when an alarm was raised. While two of the robbers managed to escape with the stolen phone, the third suspect was caught by an angry mob. He was subsequently lynched on the spot.

Police officers from the Railway Police Station later arrived at the scene to retrieve the body.

An investigation into the incident is expected to follow.
