President John Dramani Mahama has called on the newly sworn-in Armed Forces Council to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and professionalism in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

He urged the council members to inspire confidence and trust, both within the military and among the Ghanaian people.

The seven-member council, chaired by Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, includes the Ministers of the Interior, Defence, and Foreign Affairs, among others.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony at the Ministry of Defence, President Mahama emphasized that discipline and integrity are the foundation of a strong and effective military.

He charged the council with ensuring ethical leadership, transparency, and accountability within the armed forces.

The President also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in welfare and infrastructure to strengthen the Ghana Armed Forces and enhance their operational capacity.
