President of Imani Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has criticized Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene for labeling Ghana Fire Service spokesperson Alex King Nartey as a politician simply for "setting the records straight."
According to Cudjoe, the Minister should focus on his official duties rather than interfering in matters of little relevance.
In a social media post, he remarked, “Must everyone belong to a party before they express their views? Was his comment in 2015 responsible for the fire outbreaks we have had?
"The regional minister should focus on helping decongest these markets instead of calling out a fire officer doing his work with a 2015 social media post. What is this?”
Over the weekend, Alex King Nartey, a member of the Ghana Fire Service Public Relations team, faced criticism from members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after he questioned the Minister’s decision to shout at firefighters at Adum in Kumasi.
In response, Dr. Amoakohene cited Nartey’s past social media posts, dating back to 2015, where he had criticized then-President John Dramani Mahama, as evidence that he was a partisan figure rather than a neutral fire officer.
