(Dedicated to my Spiritual Father Prophet Dr. Emmanuel Badu Kobi, Glorious Wave Church Int., Sakumono, Ghana)
Churches like the Church of England, the Catholic Church, the Protestant Evangelical-Lutheran Church, the Greek Orthodox Church, the Russian Orthodox Church, Seven Day Adventists, the Pentecost Church, Assemblies of God, Joyce Meyer Ministries, etc. fall in the category of ministries.
The principal interpretation of the Bible of the Ministries had and has a great impact on individuals and societies at large. Presidents run to them to be so kings and queens. Senior pastors bless junior pastors and raise them into ministry. Like in most community churches, pastors feel the calling to serve God, study Bible courses offered by their prospective future employers, or attend university to study officially the Bible in sophisticated theological seminars, drop out along the way, or stay on to lead a congregation before retiring in old age. Others like e.g. Joyce Meyer during the hardship of a common life hear God calling them into ministry. Unlike academically trained pastors they add personal life experiences into ministry to which many of their followers can relate much better and a pastor who knows the Bible from scriptures only not by revelation and meaning of the words before them. Their soul is not in the words therefore their preaching touches the outer skin of their followers hardly their hearts and souls. They see preaching as an intellectual exercise not as a life-changing moment.
Their listeners are trained to hear the words of the e.g. Catholic or Protestant pastors leaving church service with the nice words of their pastors on their minds and have them before Sunday dinner table. Some reflect on the words spoken in church words soon being forgotten again as they were nice and uplifting in days of trouble but did not change the future of the individual and the foundation of the believer. These pastors use the scripture and compare them with their observations in daily life. This way they want to give the words of the Bible authority, truth, and constant meaning.
Private Ministries of people being called late into ministry add personal messages to the word of God that relate to the audience more and deeper. They separate themselves from the academic ministries.
Especially in Africa, a third form of ministry exists hard to understand by intellectuals surrounded by questions and mystery. Willing to question this form of worship and at the end when no question stands unanswered eventually accepting the unimaginable the believer is faced with the prophetic ministry. Prophets are not fortune tellers with cards or a glass bowl but anointed men or women of God enlightened by the words and directions from God able to look behind the past and present situation of individuals and societies. Still, human beings their prophecies are not one hundred percent in all predictions accurate but by personal observation and analysis very often hit the nail on its head. Their spirit can influence the future. The true prophets are unable to explain their talents, words, and actions as they work on the words they are given; by God. To distinguish between fake and real prophets is by observation and proof of their words. Before they prophesy in the church they do their warm-up and share deep revelations with their followers. With ease do they surface the truth of the Bible as no other Man of God can do. Prophets like Dr. Emmanuel Badu Kobi from Glorious Wave Int. in Sakumono, Ghana, or Prophet Manasseh Atzu from Watered Gardens in Dansoman, Ghana are a few names of Prophets who can change lives by evidence. Anyone doubting them should come to these special Men of God with an open critical mind and scrutinize them until all their doubts are gone and dusted. They appreciate followers who do not blindly follow them for a season but stay with them by evidence of their word; rock-solid as the Bible says "On you, I will build my church."
Neither of these churches stands above the rest. As long as they are from God they have to do whatever they were made for.
