Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA), Professor Ransford Gyampo has asserted that the “Sex for Grades” scandal he was implicated in was a deliberate scheme aimed at tarnishing his reputation and preventing his selection as a running mate.
Speaking in an interview on 3FM with Blakk Rasta, he refuted the allegations, emphasizing the lack of evidence to support the claims.
“You didn’t see me having sex with anybody, and you didn’t see me doing what they claimed. If there was no student, there was no sex, so what do you talk about?” he questioned.
The political scientist alleged that the controversy was strategically manufactured to derail his political prospects.
“I was the one selected to be a running mate, but someone around the person opposed it. To prevent that, they threw dust into the air so that by the time it settled, the person proposing me would change their mind.”
He maintained that after a thorough investigation, he was cleared of any wrongdoing, reinstated at the university, and later promoted.
“My people believed I was unnecessarily framed, and that’s why they voted for me twice in elections after the incident,” he stated.
Despite the ordeal, Professor Gyampo stated that he has chosen to focus on the lessons learned rather than dwell on the past.
