Former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Sara Adwoa Safo, has criticized the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration, describing it as unjust to the people of Ghana.

Speaking candidly about the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) loss in the 2024 elections, she revealed that party members who voiced concerns about the government’s shortcomings were often sidelined and treated as adversaries.

According to her, had the leadership been more receptive to internal criticism rather than targeting dissenting voices, the party could have retained power.

“We know the bad treatment we gave to Ghanaians as a party. People were talking, and they were not listening. MPs complained, and their constituencies were targeted, and they were removed because they were against the government, but they were speaking the truth,” she stated on Accra-based Asempa FM.

Adwoa Safo also defended former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, asserting that he should not be blamed for the NPP’s electoral defeat, as he was merely a casualty of circumstances beyond his control.

Many Ghanaians, including non-tribal writers, know this, but many were verbally attacked and received threats as well. I am surprised all these accusations are coming out after the government was voted out.
